Decorating Hacks - Spray Paint Edition!

I am a HUGE fan of spray paint - it's easy to use, readily available, economical, and comes in a variety of finishes and colors. It can truly change the appearance of pretty much anything in no time at all. I've already shared some of the ways I've used spray paint around my home to spruce things up and  to add awesome curb appeal. But as I cleaned up around my house today I noticed how much I've used spray paint to add beauty to my home without breaking the bank. If you're like me redecorating is something you do on a regular basis. Even if it's just something simple like adding a new decorative pillow or accent piece. When I recently repainted my living areas some of my favorite decorative pieces just weren't going to work. I didn't want to go to the expense to buy new pieces so I broke out the reliable ole spray paint and went to town. Here's some of what I did. Most of the pieces I painted had been brass.

Just 1 coat of white spray paint and these went from
 old timer to modern!
I'm a sucker for a topiary but this container had to go!!
 From brass to sass!!
This sad bird went from blah to brilliant! What
a cutie!

The bronze spray paint changed this
brass buffet lamp into an awesome
bedside lamp for my master.

This cheap florist's vase got a
sassy makeover! (details below*)
 * to update a boring florist's vase (which I'm sure you have dozens of!) place rubber bands around vase. Choose a glass spray paint in the color of your choice. Spray. Let it dry and then remove the rubber bands. This vase also looks lovely with a candle burning inside.

Anytime you can repurpose and reuse an item instead of just tossing it it's a win-win. Get spraying!!

  2. Thanks Gloria. I always have the hardest time picking out lamps. I was glad a coat of spray paint was all it took!
