Pawsing to Remember, losing a dog is RUFF

Over the last few years, we've had the misfortune of losing 2 very important members of our family...

Sweet Copper
My beauty, Taz

Taz and Copper on Vacay!

These dogs were everything to us. They had grown up right along side my sons, so losing them was extremely difficult for ALL of us. I racked my brain trying to come up with a way to remember them and to memorialize how much they meant to us, without being too sappy and sad.

Around this time I received a Red Envelope catalog. As I flipped through it I came across personalized silhouette dog breed pillows. AH-HA, that was it!!  I would create memorial pillows for both dogs for each of my sons as a way to honor their memories.

Memorial pillows

The best thing about these pillows is that I was also able to personalize not only with their names and silhouette but also with phrases I chose. I know this picture quality isn't the best but Copper's says "missed, loved, and forever in our hearts." Taz's says "happy birthday singing, pool swimming, paw giving, mr. magillicuddy, you will live forever in our hearts." I think they turned out extra cute without being too sad. My sons still keep them on their beds as a reminder.

Unfortunately when I tried to find these on redenvelope.com it appears they've gone out of business. I searched for something similar and came up with THIS listing on Etsy. It's not exactly the same but would be a cute alternative. ~ XOXO jules
